Boy, 2 Men Die in Shootout at Restaurant
An 8-year-old boy died along with two adult males in a shootout involving six men Saturday afternoon at a Paramount restaurant.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies believe the shooting was narcotics-related but declined to release details or the names of the victims.
A woman driving by when the shooting erupted inside the La Chiquita Mexican Restaurant at 14121 Paramount Blvd. suffered a bullet wound in the hand. She was treated at a hospital and released.
Four gunmen walked into the restaurant about 2:30 p.m. and opened fire on two male customers, 22 and 34 years old, said Sgt. Ron Spear. The two customers returned the gunfire but died at the scene. The four suspects, all described as being Latino and between 18 and 30 years old, fled on foot.
The child, who was hit in the chest, was rushed to St. Francis Hospital in Lynwood but died.
