THOUSAND OAKS : Aid Available From Endowment Fund

Sports and cultural organizations can apply now for grants from Thousand Oaks’ Community Events Endowment Fund, which sponsors activities that benefit or promote the city.
The six-page applications, available at the city manager’s office, are due by Nov. 1.
The city’s finance committee, chaired by Councilman Alex Fiore, will evaluate the applications and disburse $30,000 in funds. An extra $20,000 will be available as a contingency for unexpected community needs.
In past years, the finance committee has distributed funding for arts, cultural and sports events throughout the year, as requests trickled in. But this year, the City Council decided to allocate funds one time only, based on a competitive application process.
