N.Y. Atty. Gen. to Resign

ALBANY, N.Y. — New York Atty. Gen. Robert Abrams has announced that he will resign at the end of the year to join a law firm. Abrams, a Democrat who has been attorney general since 1978, narrowly lost last year’s U.S. Senate race to Republican incumbent Alfonse M. D’Amato.
