Season kicks off

School’s back in session and without a moment’s hesitation, Orange County high school football teams kick off their season: 11 games involving county teams are scheduled tonight, 23 on Friday, and six Saturday. Early bets are on powerhouse teams Los Alamitos and Esperanza, which dominated the Empire League last season. The two teams streamrollered opponents until they reached the Southern Section Division II championship game, where they battled to a 14-14 tie.
