1992: State Division III champions, Southern Section Division III champions, won Sea View League title.

Key newcomers: Henry Chian, Jr.; Brenden Costello, So.; Jason Ferguson, Sr.; Jake Swanson, Jr.; Andrew Van Note, Jr.; Aaron Ward, Jr.

Outlook: The Sailors have a tough act to follow after their 1992 campaign brought not only Sea View and Southern Section Division III titles, but also a State victory. Coach Barry’s 1993 squad returns only three from a year ago, but a talented junior varsity and frosh/soph collection should help the Sailors pick up where they left off. Bryson ran 9:51 for 3,200 meters last spring. Dezahd, who ran 4:32 for 1,600 meters in 1993, will assume the second-man role. Adams was the seventh man a year ago and will have his workload greatly increased this fall. Chian, Van Note, Ward and Swanson--all juniors--are expected to round out Newport Harbor’s scoring hopes.
