THOUSAND OAKS : Inquiry Launched in Rape of Girl at Home
Sheriff’s deputies in Thousand Oaks are investigating the rape of a teen-age girl who was attacked in her home over the weekend.
The attack occurred about 9:15 p.m. Sunday at the youth’s home in the 500 block of East Gainsborough Road in Thousand Oaks, authorities said. The victim was home alone and was assaulted as she walked out of the bathroom.
Detective Bob LeMay said the rapist was wearing a homemade mask that prevented the victim from seeing much of his face. Authorities have no suspects.
The assailant brandished a weapon at the girl, but detectives would not disclose the type of weapon.
LeMay said the assailant may have entered the house through an unlocked door.
