Support of Illegal Work Force Is Unethical
* Your editorial “When Anger Against Aliens Clouds Reason†(Aug. 8) was appropriate in most respects, but one paragraph was shocking in its support and encouragement of illegal activities.
The implication that the employment of illegal-immigrant day laborers at the lowest of wages and without benefits is desirable is unconscionable.
The employment of illegal immigrants is illegal.
Non-payment of payroll taxes for employees is illegal.
Not reporting wages on payroll information returns is illegal.
Payment of wages below minimum-wage standards is illegal.
Your encouragement of these illegal activities in order to exploit cheap labor is immoral and unethical.
