‘Pro-Life’ Necessitates ‘Pro-Choice’ Stance

* As I read your front-page story “O.C. Clinic Death Leads to Murder Arrest” (July 31), on an Orange County clinic death leading to a murder arrest after an illegal abortion, my thoughts were again that I am “pro-life,” which in my definition is “pro-choice.”
Women have always sought and always will seek abortion as a choice in difficult decisions that no one can judge unless they are in that woman’s shoes.
My deceased father was a prominent physician. He told me the No. 1 cause of death for women in Mexico is botched abortions! Pro-lifers, face the music. Be pro-life for these women and give them the option of having abortions in sterile atmospheres in competent hands.
