San Marino : Library Renovations

Some of the Huntington Library’s most prized items, including a Gutenberg Bible, will disappear from public view for several months as the library’s main exhibition hall undergoes renovations.

The renovations are part of preparations for a special exhibition on the life and achievements of Abraham Lincoln. The exhibit, one of the largest devoted to Lincoln, will fill the main hall and is scheduled to open Oct. 12.

The Gutenberg Bible, the first book printed with movable type in Europe, and the other rare works that have been moved will be back on public display in a separate, smaller exhibition in October.
