Keating Son’s Sentencing Postponed: The judge in the federal Lincoln Savings fraud trial postponed sentencing for the son of Charles Keating Jr. U.S. District Judge Mariana R. Pfaelzer wanted more time to consider the case and ordered Charles Keating III to return to court in Los Angeles on Thursday, said defense attorney Stephen C. Neal. The elder Keating was ordered to return to court Monday, when Judge Pfaelzer will hear a government demand that he forfeit $265 million. Such a forfeiture order would be largely meaningless, since Keating maintains he’s broke. A federal jury in January convicted both men of racketeering, conspiracy and fraud.
