Public Input Sought on Plan for Growth

Representatives from the Southern California Assn. of Governments will meet in Camarillo tonight to seek public comment on a plan to manage growth, clean up the air and improve public transportation along the Southern California coast.
David Stein, the principal planner for what is being called the Regional Comprehensive Plan, said the document is intended to serve as a blueprint for the future of the region.
“We are going to be looking at everything under the sun,” Stein said. “We’ll be talking about open space, the economy, water quality, you name it. The plan will outline how we should deal with all these issues and how local government will fit into that.”
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Camarillo City Hall, 601 Carmen Drive. The government association serves as a regional planning organization for most of Southern California.
Other counties that will participate in the plan include Los Angeles, Imperial, Riverside, San Bernardino and Orange.
