The Clinton Administration has named 861 students as National Science Scholars, including six from the San Gabriel Valley.
Each will each receive a $1,750 scholarship for the 1993-94 academic year.
The program aims to reward students by recognizing their achievements in the fields of mathematics and science.
The local winners are Wanru Tseng of Alhambra, Ching An-Lin of Alhambra, Tai-Tsiin (Janet) Chung of Baldwin Park, Grace Dy of Pasadena, Sham Kakade of Pomona and Tracy Fung of Rowland Heights.
