A 60-year-old Fillmore woman was killed early Wednesday in a head-on collision with a Southern California Edison truck on California 126 east of Fillmore, authorities said. It was the county’s fourth fatal accident in less than a week.
Delores Cisneros was driving east on California 126 near Fish Hatchery Road about 6:15 a.m. when she drifted across the double yellow line into the path of oncoming traffic. Cisneros slammed into an Edison truck driven by Robert Fox, according to the CHP.
Cisneros, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:30 a.m., said Deputy Coroner Craig Stevens. She was a citrus packer who worked at the Fillmore-Piru Citrus Assn.
Fox, 35, of Saugus works out of Valencia and was headed to a work assignment in Fillmore. He suffered minor bruises and was treated at Santa Paula Memorial Hospital and released.
The crash tied up traffic on the highway for about an hour.
