Distinct Reality Caps a Big Day for Hough

ELMONT, N.Y. — Longshot Distinct Reality won the $112,450 Tremont Breeders’ Cup at Belmont Park on Monday.
Ridden by Jerry Bailey, who won last year’s Tremont on England Expects, and trained by Stanley Hough, Distinct Reality won by two lengths in 1:04 3/5. The victory in the Grade III race for 2-year-olds gave Hough his third winner of the afternoon.
Distinct Reality, carrying 115 pounds, covered 5 1/2 furlongs on a fast track in 1:04 1/5 to remain undefeated in two starts.
Distinct Reality earned $67,470 for Beatrice Oxenberg and returned $18.80, $7.20 and $3.80. Gusto Z. paid $6.40 and $3.40 and Slew Gin Fizz returned $3.20. Favored Code Home was fourth.
