Sales of Single-Family Homes Fall 9.4% in May

Sales of single-family homes in Ventura County in May fell 9.4% from April and 3.6% from May, 1992, according to the California Assn. of Realtors.
The median price of a single-family home in May was $210,960, down 1.1% from April and 4.6% from May, 1992, the association said. The median price in May, 1992, was $221,100.
Separately, in a report on new building, the Construction Industry Research Board said 137 single-family homes were started in May in Ventura County, compared with 128 the previous month and 132 in May, 1992.
The value of all new construction projects in the county, including commercial and industrial buildings, totaled $40.8 million in May, the trade group reported. This was down from $67.2 million in April and $52.1 million in May, 1992.
