Glendale Federal to Sell 23 Florida Branches: The nation’s fifth-largest thrift said it will sell the offices as part of a recapitalization plan. The branches, with $1.1 billion in deposits, are in St. Petersburg and Orlando. Glenfed will retain 37 Florida branches with $3 billion in deposits. The thrift has 215 offices in California, Washington and Florida. The company said it will release a prospectus on the recapitalization today.
