China Posts $3.54-Billion Trade Deficit: The figure applies to the first six months of the year, the official Xinhua news agency reported. Customs statistics showed imports totaling $40.69 billion, or 23.4% more than in the first half of 1992. Exports for the first half amounted to $37.15 billion, up 4.4% from a year ago.
