LOCAL NOTES : Pigskin Classic Tickets on Sale Thursday
Tickets for the Disneyland Pigskin Classic football game between North Carolina and USC on Aug. 29 at Anaheim Stadium will go on sale Thursday, the Orange County Sports Assn. announced Tuesday.
Tickets, $15 and $28, can be purchased at Gate 9 of the stadium from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. They can also be obtained using a credit card by calling (714) 937-7391.
Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.

Cal State Fullerton outfielder Dante Powell contributed a two-run single in an eight-run second inning as the United States rolled to a 16-1 victory over France in the Intercontinental Baseball Cup on Tuesday in Reggio Emilia, Italy.
The game was stopped after 6 1/2 innings due to the international 10-run rule.
The U.S. team improved to 4-2 in the round-robin tournament with three games remaining. The United States plays Italy today.

Nils Schyllander and Danny Wood, both all-state tennis players from Saddleback College, have announced plans to play at four-year colleges.
Schyllander, from Sweden, is going to Central Florida. Wood, from La Puente Bishop Amat High, will play at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Trabuco Hills named assistant coach Kevin Otsuji as its girls’ soccer coach, Athletic Director Gary Sabella said Tuesday.
Otsuji, who plays at Southern California College, was an assistant to Bob Daman, who left Trabuco Hills to take over the coaching duties at El Toro next season.
