DUBLIN, Ireland — Jean Kennedy Smith presented her credentials Thursday to Irish President Mary Robinson as the new U.S. ambassador to Ireland. She had accompanied her brother, the late President John F. Kennedy, on a visit back to their roots in Ireland almost 30 years ago.
