Let’s Get to the Bottom of This

PISCATAWAY, N.J. â€”  Should the toilet paper hang over or under the roll?

It’s a trivia question that has absorbed more than one advice column writer. And now the bathroom industry has taken a hand in the debate.

Flushed with desire to settle the question, the American Standard Plumbing Co. polled bath and kitchen pros at an Atlanta convention.

The bottom line? Over wiped out under by a vote of 1,826 to 1,256.

The New Jersey-based company said they turned up the information by quizzing designers, contractors, dealers, distributors and other bath and kitchen reps.

Those polled were asked to vote their preference on the question: “What is the correct and only way to hang the toilet paper?� So, that should be the end of that.
