CALABASAS : Extension of Flood Channel to Be Built
- Share via
In a continuing response to flooding during the past two rainy seasons, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has approved construction of a 375-foot extension of a flood control channel next to Old Topanga Canyon Road near Mulholland Highway.
The board’s action this week comes after the intersection west of Calabasas High School flooded during the past two rainy seasons, said county Department of Public Works spokeswoman Jean Granucci.
Construction of the 15-foot-wide, 6 1/2-foot-deep concrete channel is expected to take about two months, beginning in September.
