Child Left Overnight at Casino; Man Held
RENO — A tourist from Northern California was arrested Sunday after allegedly leaving his 11-year-old stepson unattended overnight at a casino, officers said.
Tho Van Nguyen, 34, of Newark was booked into the Washoe County Jail for investigation of child endangerment. Police said he dropped the boy off at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino midway.
The child contacted casino security guards about 3:30 a.m. Sunday and he was later flown home to his mother.
Police said the man contacted security guards at 11:50 a.m. Sunday to inquire about his stepson. He told police that he had been gambling.
