China’s Chi Bin won the women’s 10-meter platform at the Diving World Cup in Beijing. Chi overtook Russia’s Svetlana Khokhlova on her final dive with a forward 3 1/2-pike somersault that was worth 81.9 points. Chi’s four dives totaled 259.59 points, edging Khokhlova’s 257.94.
Another Russian, Alla LoBankina-Tarasova, was third at 244.89. Mary Ellen Clark of the United States, the 1992 Olympic bronze medalist, was fourth.
