Wherehouse Buys Chain of Music Stores: The Torrance-based music and video retailer said it will buy 29 mall stores of the Record Shop, a retail chain based in Sausalito. The stores are in 11 markets, including Salt Lake City, Des Moines and Minneapolis. Wherehouse did not disclose the terms of the sale.
