‘Mr. Bill’ Cartoon
With reference to Mike Peters’ editorial cartoon (Drawingboard, Commentary, May 6) on “Mr. Bill” Clinton’s first 100 days, it certainly would have been appropriate for Peters and The Times--after basing an entire six-frame cartoon on a character created and owned by another--to credit that individual properly.
The creator and owner of “Mr. Bill” is Walter Williams, who hereby retroactively (since he was never approached) gives Peters and The Times authority to use his character in the May 6 cartoon. By the way--it was a nice cartoon.
