Reed Elsevier Negotiating to Buy Airline Guide: Reed Elsevier said it is in talks with the administrators of Maxwell Communication Corp. to buy the assets of Official Airlines Guide Inc. for about $425 million, according to the joint venture company formed by Reed International and Dutch Elsevier. Reed Elsevier said it is interested in purchasing all of Official Airlines Guide Inc.’s assets excluding Standard Rate & Data Service Inc. A letter of intent for the sale has been signed by the two parties.
