MIDWAY CITY — A 2-year-old boy was killed Wednesday in a hit-and-run accident that occurred in the middle of a residential street.
Javier Jardon Molina was struck and dragged by a car at 12:10 p.m. in the 14600 block of Wilson Street, said California Highway Patrol Officer Tamara Baarts.
The boy, who had been playing with a 4-year-old friend, was taken to Huntington Beach Humana Hospital where he died of a massive head injury, Baarts said.
The driver of the car apparently sped away and was last seen traveling north on Wilson Street near Bolsa Avenue and Beach Boulevard.
There were no known witnesses to the accident other than the victim’s playmate, Baarts said.
“We don’t know if he was playing in the middle of the street or if he ran in front of the car,” Baarts said. “We’ve interviewed all of the neighbors, but no one saw anything.”
Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the CHP’s Westminster office at (714) 892-8826.
