On Leave: Roger Workman, president of Otis School of Art and Design, has taken an administrative leave, apparently as a first step in leaving his position. Sources close to the school said that Workman’s departure is part of an economy move and that he is being forced out, but the school would only confirm that Workman took an administrative leave, which began Tuesday. Workman joined Otis in 1980 as dean of students and was made dean of the school in 1985. He became president last year, when the school dissolved its 14-year merger with Parsons School of Design in New York.
