GOP Defeat of Stimulus Plan
A minority in one house prevents the majority of both houses and the President from enacting legislation through parliamentary guerrilla tactics and calls it “a victory for the American taxpayer.†There is money for tobacco price supports, money for the supercollider, money for rich goat ranchers--but no money for summer jobs for poor kids and no money for vaccinations of children. Shame on these guys and their sanctimonious posturing!
