TOGAS OPTIONAL: Camarillo Community Theater will hold the last of three days of auditions for its upcoming production of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum†Friday at 7 p.m. at the Camarillo Community Center, 10605 Burnley St., Camarillo. Those auditioning should bring sheet music and be prepared to sing a ballad and an up-tempo song. An accompanist will be provided. ARE YOU SURE LIZ AND DICK HAD TO GO THROUGH THIS?: The Ojai Shakespeare Festival holds open auditions Saturday and Sunday afternoon for its summer productions of “The Taming of the Shrew†and “Romeo and Juliet,†both under the supervision of artistic director Paul Backer. Both shows play the first three weekends in August; “Shrew†afternoons only and “Romeo†evenings only. All roles are said to be open, and casting is “non-Equity, gender blind (and) without respect to ethnicity.†Aspiring actors should prepare a one- to two-minute monologue from any Shakespearean play, and prepare a physical presentation--tumbling, fencing, juggling or comedy--of up to one minute in length. Those auditioning should be familiar with the play, and be prepared for a cold reading from the script. Also, an acting resume and, if available, an 8-by-10 glossy should be brought.
