Maywood : Faulty Wiring Blamed for $325,000 Fire at Church
A Roman Catholic church was heavily damaged in an early morning fire ignited by faulty electrical wiring in the church office, a fire investigator said Wednesday.
Praise Chapel Catholic Church sustained about $325,000 in damage to its structure and contents after a 25-foot extension cord caught fire Tuesday about 3 a.m., said Capt. William Franklin of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The fire spread to the interior of the church and destroyed its ceiling.

Church fire--A Maywood church damaged in a fire last week was misidentified in The Times on Thursday. It is the Praise Chapel Companerismo Cristiano, a Christian Fellowship church at 4433 E. 58th St.
