The following are selected entries from the crime logs of local law enforcement agencies between April 19 and 25:
Glendale
Fifth Street, 1300 block--A thief stole a semiautomatic pistol, valued at $500, from a private residence. The crime was reported April 19.
East Glenoaks Boulevard, 2800 block--Vandals used black spray paint on playground equipment and a restroom wall at a city park April 19.
Verdugo Boulevard, 2000 block--Thieves kicked in a door panel to enter a locked grocery store storage room and stole cigarettes, valued at $4,100, on April 20.
Fourth Avenue, 3800 block--After forcing a front door lock, thieves entered a private residence and stole jewelry, valued at $4,600, between 11:45 a.m. and 2:40 p.m. April 21.
Orange Grove Avenue, 700 block--Robbers stole a woman’s purse containing $15 at gunpoint at 9:15 p.m. April 21.
Harvey Drive and Wilson Avenue--Thieves stole a compressor, valued at $10,000, from a construction site on April 21 or 22.
Winchester Avenue, 1100 block--Possibly using a key, thieves entered a private residence and stole jewelry, valued at more than $10,000, between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. April 22.
South Glendale Avenue, 800 block--The manager of an auto parts store was threatened with a knife by an angry customer at 3:15 p.m. April 23.
North Louise Street, 500 block--Entering through a window, thieves stole cash and jewelry, valued together at $8,000, and household goods of unknown value between 5 and 11:30 p.m. April 24.
East Broadway, 1400 block--Thieves pried open locker room doors at a high school and stole money from a soda machine and damaged a pay phone on April 24 or 25.
Honolulu Avenue, 2300 block--Entering a bar through a roof air-conditioning duct, thieves stole about $820 in liquor and coins from entertainment machines between 2:45 and 8:45 a.m. April 25.
North Central Avenue, 200 block--A thief stole 17 pairs of glasses, valued at $2,118, from a department store optical department at 1:50 p.m. April 25.
La Canada Flintridge
Cobblestone Lane, 4300 block--Thieves broke a kitchen window and stole a ring, a camera and video equipment, valued together at $2,400, between 11:45 a.m. and 2:40 p.m. April 19.
Lanterman Avenue, 4100 block--Entering through an unlocked garage door, thieves stole a wallet containing credit cards, $9 cash and grocery store scrip valued at $20, between 8:20 and 9 a.m. April 20.
La Canada Boulevard, 5100 block--A soil compactor, valued at $1,700, was stolen from a construction site between 11 and 11:20 a.m. April 20.
Berkshire Place, 100 block--Thieves broke into a school and stole video equipment, valued at $200, between April 22 and 23.
Glenhurst Avenue, 3400 block--After pushing a woman’s shoulder, thieves stole her purse containing $607 at 5:25 p.m. April 20
Glendale Boulevard, 3400 block--Thieves pulled back the siding on a garage and stole tools, valued at $1,996, between April 21 and 22.
Eagle Rock
Yosemite Drive, 1700 block--Thieves entered classrooms and stole video equipment and typewriters, valued together at $900. The theft was discovered April 19.
North Avenue 46, 1800 block--After prying open the front door, thieves entered a private residence and took a TV and video equipment, valued together at $2,800, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. April 19.
Saxon Drive, 2700 block--Thieves cut alarm cables attached to a garage and removed clothing and tools, valued together at $4,000, between April 21 and 22.
Wildwood Drive, 1400 block--Thieves pried open a front door and ransacked a private residence, stealing cash and firearms, valued together at $17,640, between 3 and 5:30 p.m. April 24.
Eagle Rock Boulevard, 4400 block--A thief armed with a dagger stole a car from its owner in a parking facility at 4 p.m. April 24.
Toland Way, 4300 block--A woman was stabbed in the left side of her upper torso at 4:20 p.m. April 25.
Echo Park
West Sunset Boulevard, 1200 block--Thieves pried open a rear door window, reached in to unlock the door, and stole cash and a radio, valued together at $2,000, on April 20 or 21.
Boulevard, 1300 block--Thieves forced a bathroom door lock next to an office, then broke a hole in the wall, entered the office and stole a TV and business machines, valued together at $1,090, on April 21 or 22.
Montana and Lemoyne Streets--A robber approached a woman from behind, hit her with a gun and stole her purse and $75 at 6 a.m. April 22.
Logan Street, 1400 block--One of four assailants fired shots at a vehicle turning into the owner’s residence at 11:10 p.m. April 22.
Echo Park Avenue, 1300 block--A thief knocked on a door and stole jewelry valued at $600 from the man who opened the door at 10:40 a.m. April 23.
Glassell Park
San Fernando Road, 2800 block--Displaying a shotgun from a moving car, thieves stole $58 from a man on foot at 9:15 a.m. April 22.
Avenue 32 and Fletcher Drive--Robbers with a knife stole cash and telephone equipment valued at $645 from a man at 2:30 a.m. April 23.
San Fernando Road and Figueroa Street--With knives in hand, robbers approached a man from behind and stole credit cards and $1,188 at 10:45 p.m. April 23.
Estara Avenue, 3000 block--Police arrested four people suspected of ransacking a junior high school at 11:30 a.m. April 25.
Highland Park
Aratina Avenue, 1000 block--Residents reported April 19 that thieves entered through the rear window of a home and stole computer equipment valued at $1,000.
North Avenue 55, 1800 block--After removing a rear sliding door, thieves entered and stole firearms, valued at $270, between 7:45 and 10 a.m. April 19.
Avenue 49, 1200 block--An assailant pointed a handgun at a man and fired three or four shots at him at 12:30 a.m. April 20.
York Boulevard and Aldama Street--A robber took $100 at gunpoint from a man at 6 p.m. April 20.
North Figueroa Street, 6100 block--Displaying a handgun at a pizza restaurant, a robber took $100 at 11:15 p.m. April 20.
York Boulevard, 6200 block--After ordering a drink, a robber displayed a gun and took $200 from a fast-food restaurant at 10 p.m. April 21.
North Figueroa Street, 6400 block--Thieves forced open a rear window in a private residence and stole computer and video equipment, valued together at $2,475, between 10 a.m. and noon April 22.
York Boulevard, 5300 block--Robbers took $250 at gunpoint from a liquor store at 2:15 p.m. April 22.
North Figueroa Street, 5400 block--A robber pushed a woman in a parking facility and took cash and jewelry, valued together at $3,420, at 9:30 a.m. April 24.
York and Eagle Rock Boulevards--Coming from the back of the bus, a thief stole $25 from the top of the fare box and ran out the door at 8:40 a.m. April 25.
Los Feliz
Berendo Street, 1400 block--When a man did not respond to knocking at the front door, thieves entered through the rear door and stole electronic equipment, valued at $1,800, and were chased by the man at 3 p.m. April 20.
Bates Avenue, 1300 block--Placing an unknown object at a man’s neck, a bandit took credit cards and $78 at 1:45 a.m. April 22.
North Berendo Street, 1200 block--Thieves reached in through an open window and stole cash and jewelry, valued together at $1,600, between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. April 22.
Franklin and Vermont Avenues--While a woman motorist was waiting for a stop light to change, thieves drove up next to her and stole her purse and $35 at 3:15 p.m. April 22.
Avocado Street, 4300 block--After breaking the window of a rear door, thieves unlocked the door and stole a radio and computer equipment, valued together at $2,000, between 9:30 and 11 p.m. April 23.
Tracy Street, 3800 block--Thieves forced open a side window and stole a radio and household goods, valued together at $4,830, on April 23 or 24.
Griffith Park Drive and Mineral Wells Terrace--Street thugs pulled a man off his motorcycle, beat him, stole credit cards and $70, and fled yelling racial slurs at 9 p.m. April 24.
Mount Washington
Avenue 50 and Echo Street--A bandit blocked a man’s way, then took cash and jewelry, valued together at $655, at 10:30 p.m. April 20.
Isabel Street, 600 block--Thieves pried open a window and stole jewelry, valued at $1,000, between 1 and 6 a.m. April 22.
West Avenue 43, 100 block--Approaching a woman from behind, a thief pulled her purse containing credit cards and $221 from her shoulder at 9:15 p.m. April 22.
Silver Lake
Blake Avenue, 1700 block--Thieves stole a TV, valued at $1,200, from a storage shed between April 18 and 20.
Locksley Place, 2600 block--In spite of an alarm system, thieves stole jewelry and other property, valued together at $1,050, at 8:04 a.m. April 23.
Veselich Avenue, 3900 block--Thieves pried away a screen and opened an unlocked window to enter and steal cash and ewelry, valued together at $1,800, between 9 and 9:30 a.m. April 23.
