Cadenza Wins Annual Race to Ensenada
Cadenza, a 45-foot sloop from San Diego, won top handicap honors in the Newport-Ensenada Yacht Race Saturday despite a collision during the start Friday.
The sloop, skippered by Carl Eichenlaub of the San Diego Yacht Club, finished the 125-mile race in 18 hours 45 minutes, recording a corrected time of slightly over 17 1/2 hours and winning the President of the United States trophy.
