Public Officials’ Actions Scrutinized
Apparently OCTA Chairman Gary L. Hausdorfer believes (“Meals for 8 O.C. Officials Total $18,000,†April 13) that the people who voted for Measure M (i.e. taxpayers) should be happy to pay thousands of dollars to wine and dine OCTA officials because they cut costs elsewhere (and because of their) performance in delivering projects under budget and ahead of schedule. Shouldn’t we expect this performance from officials who are being paid six-figure salaries? Too bad this report wasn’t made public before we voted on Measure M.
