HUNTINGTON BEACH : Activists to Get Wet to Protect Wetlands

The Bolsa Chica Land Trust and the Surfrider Foundation have jointly scheduled a “paddle-out protest” today to emphasize their opposition to proposed development of land around the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve.
The demonstration will begin at 9 a.m. at the south end of Bolsa Chica State Beach. Some of the protesters will be on surfboards.
Following the demonstration, the two groups will participate in a cleanup of the beach at 10 a.m. Prizes will be awarded to participants in the beach cleanup, officials said.
