LOS ANGELES : 4 Arrested After 2-Year Child Pornography Inquiry

Four arrests were announced Thursday in what a sheriff’s investigator called “the most significant seizure of child pornography in recent memory.”

Deputy Duane Preimsberger, chief of the department’s Child Exploitation Bureau, said pornographers had surreptitiously videotaped naked toddlers and posed as talent scouts to get young girls to remove their clothes.

The four men arrested were identified as Coy Jackson, 58, of Bellflower; John Markland, 37, of Hacienda Heights; Eric Kings, 50, of San Pedro, and Stephen Brott, 34, of Los Angeles.

Sheriff’s deputies said the arrests stemmed from a two-year undercover investigation that is still under way. Deputies were aided by U.S. Customs Service agents and the Gardena Police Department.

According to authorities, the men showed up at photo shoots for aspiring models and paid young girls to pose nude or in suggestive acts.

Other times, the men surreptitiously videotaped toddlers, some as young as 3 years old, playing naked at the beach, officials said.
