CAMARILLO : Volunteers Needed to Sort Park Bricks
Camarillo city officials are seeking volunteers Saturday to help unpack and separate hundreds of personalized bricks that will be laid in a sidewalk at Constitution Park.
They should go to the city corporation yard at the south end of Glenn Drive between 9 a.m. and noon, Management Assistant Chris Sanborn said.
The Camarillo Constitution Park Committee, a volunteer group that has been raising money to develop the park at Carmen Drive and Paseo Camarillo, sold orders for about 2,000 personalized bricks for $25 each.
Each brick is engraved with a person’s name, many in memory of someone who has died, Sanborn said.
Volunteers began organizing the bricks last week, but still have about 600 that need to be sorted and checked, she said.
The committee plans to install the bricks in a sidewalk that circles the park within the next several weeks.
