TV to Air Fewer Hong Kong Shows: Malaysia will reduce the number of Hong Kong-produced programs shown on television because they contain too much violence, the Star and New Straits Times reported. Information Minister Mohamed Rahmat said government-owned Radio Television Malaysia intends to replace the gory Hong Kong fare with locally produced Chinese programs. About a third of Malaysia’s population is Chinese, according to census figures.
