Dabbaghian Makes All-Section Team
Barry Dabbaghian of Providence High, who ranked among the state scoring leaders all season, is one of three area players who have been selected to the All-Southern Section Division V boys’ basketball team.
Dabbaghian, a 6-foot-2 senior who averaged 30.7 points, joins senior point guard C.J. Thompkins of Campbell Hall and senior swingman Charles Williams of Antelope Valley Christian on the team.
Second-team selections are senior Sako Balian of Holy Martyrs, freshman Jerome Joseph of Montclair Prep and sophomore Tony Hoggatts of Faith Baptist.

Ryle Lynch-Cole, the Channel Islands girls’ basketball coach for nine seasons, resigned last week.
Lynch-Cole, 36, did not discuss reasons for his resignation, saying only, “It was time for a change.†His Channel Islands teams were 196-52 and won three Marmonte League championships.
