Stephane Richer scored three goals and set up another during a five-goal second period as the New Jersey Devils handed the San Jose Sharks their 10th consecutive loss, 5-0, at East Rutherford, N.J., on Monday night.
Chris Terreri stopped 24 shots on his way to his second shutout of the season and fourth of his career.
New Jersey took 25 shots at Shark goalie Jeff Hackett during the second period, a Devil record.
New Jersey is five points ahead of the fourth-place New York Rangers in the Patrick Division.
