SBA Branching Out?

Fountain Valley must be ecstatic about receiving money to plant 400 new trees (“Fountain Valley Receives $50,000 to Plant 400 Trees,” March 18). But why is the U.S. Small Business Administration donating the $50,000 for the trees? It was my understanding that the purpose of that agency was to help finance new businesses. This does not seem right when that money could have gone to some entrepreneur, many of whom are turned down every week. The trees should be paid for by the property taxes and sales taxes of Fountain Valley residents.
