Looking at the ‘View’

The filmmaker, Peter Friedman, says the whole point of the film is that it is a love story about two men who were lovers for over 20 years. This is well before the epidemic entering its second decade. Does the film explain how AIDS was contacted in this love story, or is that not part of the honesty?
