PIONEER AIRWOMEN
For a book on pioneer airwomen, I need photographs and input on Aloysa McLintic and Andrea Peyre.
McLintic was an Osage from Oklahoma, trained to fly at Long Beach by Earl Daugherty. Peyre, a French actress who took up wing-walking and stunt-flying, arrived in Hollywood under Pathe contract in 1919. She later toured the U.S. with war ace Charles Nungesser’s troupe. Both performed at air shows independently in the Southland during the 1920-24 period, notably at Glendale, Pasadena and Santa Monica.
The undersigned has been researching these ladies for years; thus far not a single photograph has surfaced. My book is slated for 1993 publication.
