MIRACULOUS MISCONCEPTION
Along with the Eucharist and transubstantiation, one of the most astonishing miracles of Christianity is the uncanny ability of some Christians to criticize books they have not read, condemn art they have not seen and damn films they have not viewed.
In their letters of Jan. 24, Norbert Talbert and Mrs. Edith H. Granstedt roundly criticized A.N. Wilson’s “Jesus, A Life,” yet it is clear from the letters neither has read the book.
Had they done so, they would have found pages and pages of carefully written commentary dealing in a most thoughtful and respectful manner with the very matters of faith Granstedt and Talbert call to issue.
