EEOC Chairman Submits Resignation to Clinton

WASHINGTON — The chairman of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said Friday that he will resign effective April 2. Evan J. Kemp Jr. notified President Clinton of his plans in a letter and said in a statement distributed by the EEOC: “I am proud of my association with the agency responsible for ensuring fairness in the American workplace.” He has been chairman since 1990.
