CAMARILLO : Residents Sought for Rent Review Panel

Camarillo city officials are seeking two residents to fill vacancies on the city’s rent review commission, a volunteer panel that mediates disputes between tenants and landlords.
The panel has openings for a public representative and an alternate tenant representative after the resignations of commission members Marion Gordon and Leonard Wolk.
The board has three seats for members of the public; one seat each for a landlord and an apartment tenant; and designated alternates for the landlord and tenant representatives.
Rent-review commissioners, who are not paid, meet as needed to hold public hearings on landlord-tenant disputes.
The commission held one public hearing in 1992 and has held none so far this year.
In addition, the panel meets twice yearly to elect officers and prepare a report on its activity for the City Council.
