Working for the Competition: NBC West Coast President Don Ohlmeyer will spend his Memorial Day weekend playing for the competition--namely, ABC. Ohlmeyer will be directing rival ABC’s coverage of the Indianapolis 500 on May 30. ABC and NBC officials said Ohlmeyer had made arrangements to direct the broadcast before his recent appointment at NBC because his production firm, Ohlmeyer Communications Co., is affiliated with ABC Sports’ racing coverage. NBC officials denied there was a conflict of interest.
