Soccer’s world governing body annulled last month’s World Cup qualifying match between Egypt and Zimbabwe and ordered it replayed on March 28.
The nine-man bureau of the FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee, meeting at the FIFA World Youth Championships, said the match at Cairo was not played “under normal sporting conditions.†Zimbabwe protested Egypt’s 2-1 victory, saying its players were struck by objects thrown from the crowd in Cairo Stadium.
