N. California Newspaper Stops Publication: The Peninsula Times Tribune, a daily newspaper that covered the region south of San Francisco, has halted publication indefinitely after failing to find a buyer. The shutdown affects 280 employees, including those working for Peninsula Community Newspapers, a group of nine weeklies that will also be shut down. The newspapers are owned by the Tribune Co. of Chicago, which put them up for sale Nov. 2.
