In response to Special Report on the State of Human Rights, Opinion, Feb. 28:
Regarding the interview of Juan de Dios Ramirez: Finally there is someone to give us a voice! As the daughter of a Spanish Gypsy I have been labeled everything from thief and beggar to Satan worshiper. Reared in white-bread Southern California has made the ignorance of my peers painfully apparent. However, I can only imagine the hell of not being able to escape persecution at the hands of idiots, as have the thousands of Gypsies and millions of Jews who have shed blood in the name of nationalism. I applaud Juan de Dios Ramirez Heredia for his maldicion gitana against Jean-Marie Le Pen and I applaud him for giving a dignified and courageous voice to the persecuted!
